Panning for gold is easy, fun, rewarding and can be lucrative! It’s also the cheapest method for extracting gold from the places, except maybe finding large gold nuggets as you walk the banks of a river.To get started, all you need is a gold pan, which can be purchased for around fifteen dollars.
Original, traditional gold pans were made of sheet-iron and were a shallow bowl shaped with sloping sides and flat bottom. Current, more modern gold pans are lighter, have riffles (or stepped edges), that help catch gold. The newer pans are almost all colored green to help make the gold stand out and make it easier to spot your find of gold.
A gold pan may be all you need, but there are lot of other gold panning accessories that make your life easier and help maximize the amount of gold you take home.
